The successor to the Australian Film Institute (AFI) Awards

The Logie Awards are named after Scottish inventor John Logie Baird, a pioneer in the development of television.

The AWGIE Awards are the Australian Writers' Guild's annual awards for excellence in screen, television, stage and radio writing. Judging is by professional writers and based on the written script rather than the final production.
