Written by John Ridley
Directed by Ken Cameron

With wedding preparations well underway, Jess is beginning to feel the heat: Jack is determined to play Father of the Bride and pay for the wedding, despite the fact that he can't afford it; Natalie doesn't like her bridesmaid's dress and isn't hiding the fact; and Darren, whose best man has cancelled on him, has just asked Toby to step into the breach.

Jack finds himself the victim of a smear campaign by rival publican, Simon Westlake. When Simon challenges Jack to a camel race, Jack initially dismisses it, but when Simon entices him with a $10,000 winner's purse, Jack sees the solution to his financial dilemma and accepts. When it becomes obvious that Jack is no camel jockey, he attempts to enlist Michael and Toby into the saddle, but without any luck. With Hugh issuing him dire warnings about Simon's untrustworthiness, and Helen's heroic misconceptions putting pressure on him, Jack starts to seriously regret his hasty decision.

Of course, Simon's real agenda is to undermine the business competition. He targets Helen, trying to entice her to work for him. When Jack sees them talking, he assumes they are having an affair, and that Helen is the real prize at stake. But just when it seems that Jack is staring humiliation in the face, Darren steps in and agrees to ride for the Baa Bar in his stead. Meanwhile, Matt finds out that Simon is an old flame of Ellie's, causing tensions to rise in that relationship. Matt asks Ellie where she sees their relationship heading. Ellie's enjoying the status quo, but it's clear that Matt wants to take things a step or two further. With both of them harbouring different ideas about their future together, it seems their partnership is doomed.

The pressure for Jess gets too much. With Toby threatening to ingloriously spill the beans in his best man's speech, and Darren injuring himself in his attempt to help Jack win the ten grand to pay for the wedding bash, she decides to cancel the wedding.

On the day of the camel race, Jack withdraws, to town ridicule. But an unexpected lecture on the meaning of life from Doris the camel prompts Jack to reconsider. In the big race, Simon's bull camel becomes "enamoured" of Doris, and in the ensuing battle, Simon falls from his mount and Jack wins an unlikely victory.

With celebrations at the Baa Bar, Jack's only thought is to present Jess with the big cheque. But his hopes for a wedding are dashed when Natalie arrives to deliver the news: Jess and Darren have eloped.
