Freshly released Melbourne jailbird Ray Chuck plans Australia's most audacious heist — the Great Bookie Robbery. The Kane brothers want a cut from his multi-million dollar heist and by not giving the Kanes a slice of the proceeds, Chuck upsets the Melbourne crime hierarchy and triggers a deadly underworld war. Detective Warwick Mobbs suspects police corruption as his efforts to solve Mackay's murder are constantly frustrated.
