Lincoln de-briefs with Pinder who presses him for details about Koz Krilich; Koz is Bec's brother and Lincoln's lifelong best mate. Koz and his wife Dimity are expecting their first child, and leaving them behind was the hardest part of the exit from Queensland. Bec misses them terribly; she longs to call them, but it's totally against the rules.

Pinder wants information about Koz's criminal activities. Lincoln flat-out refuses to implicate his best mate/brother-in-law. Pinder, frustrated, reveals: it was Koz who financed the attempt on Lincoln's life. Koz got him stabbed.

Bec is struggling to cope with Warwick, who's drunk, crazy and utterly demanding. Broke and alone, Bec tries to get a job, but after several knock-backs she gets desperate and makes a rash decision: she contacts her erstwhile colleague Ash Adamo. He's now living and working in Sydney.

Mitch is homesick for the Gold Coast and missing his girlfriend Kelly. Unable to cope anymore he packs a bag, leaves a note for Tara, and disappears.

Tara hides the truth from her parents for as long as she can.... until Bec figures it out, and Tara's forced to admit it: Mitch has done a runner, back to the belly of the beast. Lincoln and Bec are mind-blown.

Lincoln decides to risk everything and return to Queensland to search for his son. Finding Mitch is the easy part; the challenge for Lincoln is to stay alive, in a place ruled by the men who want him dead. And finally, he must confront his son, and persuade Mitch to leave with him.
