Having barely survived the assassination attempt by Danny Stoltz, Lincoln knows that Sydney is no longer safe. He tries to convince Bec to run with him and the kids — to flee further south, to start a new life somewhere else.

However, Bec's uprooted the kids once before and she's reluctant to do it again. She's also been contacted by Brianna — Bec and Lincoln's first-born child, who was given up for adoption at birth. Bec wants to stay long enough to reunite with her daughter, no matter what the risk. She also believes that Pinder can protect them, at least until the meeting with Brianna goes down.

But Pinder has some terrible news of his own. His maverick style and fast- and-loose accounting methods are now beginning to catch up with him, and he's given an almighty shock at Police HQ. The case is unravelling, and so too his ability to protect the Swift family.

Lincoln's enemies meanwhile have the scent of blood. They're closing in, and finding him and killing him off once and for all is only a matter of time. As matters at the University build to a head, Lincoln's various worlds collide — and the result is an epic, terrifying showdown as blood is shed on the University lawn.
