Anna

Part 6
Thu, May 18, 2017
Written by Jacquelin Perske
Directed by Ana Kokkinos

Feeling the weight of her testimony as Simon's trial approaches, Anna wrestles with her conscience over the right course of action. After visiting Simon in remand, in the days prior to the trial, his explanation plays on Anna's mind as she contemplates his unexpected role in her life. Waiting for her moment in court, Anna makes mysterious negotiations on her phone, suggesting that perhaps her decision is not entirely her own will.

Upon taking the stand, Anna makes a decision that leaves her relationship with Joe reeling. With Anna now facing her own legal concerns, she struggles to explain her statement that raised more questions than answers.

As Joe retreats, even Kathleen, Anna's mother, questions her actions, bringing up wounds from the past, leaving Anna to confront long simmering issues. With Anna and Joe's marriage reaching crisis point, an isolated Anna is forced to consider the meaning of family and her relationships — both past and present.
