Gayle is crushed when she visits Mike and sees that Alison Finley is staying with him. Mike asks Alison to give their relationship a chance when she wants to move out. Her ex-husband demands a meeting with the pair and expresses his reformed ways. Struggling in Valerie's absence, JJ eagerly accepts a dinner invitation from Glenn and tries to get Danni to tackle his housekeeping. Her friend sees the man for the fraud he is but the women's relationship becomes subject to blackmail. In the aftermath, they learn East has an alibi for the night of the stabbing leaving the detectives to find out the truth. Finally truthful with each other, Faye and John reconcile. Meanwhile, a young couple in the same park are attacked. The man is beaten and the woman is hauled off by the attackers, later found raped and beaten. When the suspects are finally caught, the girl refuses to cooperate with the police at the urging of her father who wants it all to just go away. Tony and Claire announce their pregnancy to Eric and their friends. Gayle is upset by her mother lying to Rhonda to keep her from seeing her son. Eric offers to buy Claire a new car. Pamela has words with Rhonda when she's late bringing Jamie home and accuses her of being an unfit mother. Alison tells Danni about her and Mike's troubles while Glenn seeks JJ's advice about Pamela's ability to cope with her father's illness. JJ reluctantly shares the news with Mike and Danni. Mike is put off by JJ's attitude towards the victim and seeks the company of Amanda who's happy to listen to his troubles. Claire's ultrasound confirms she's carrying one child, welcome news to Roy who had started making a second cradle. Edmund gifts Pamela some expensive jewellery and to Glenn he delivers a copy of his will which leaves Gayle a small fortune.
