The investigation has a break-through when a woman called Marianne Gowdie is discovered to have the same blood disorder as Dorothy Moxley. Lewis, seemingly worried about where the investigation is going, decides — against Molly and Alex’s better judgement — to charge Freddie Hopkins, even though he has not yet established a motive. A strange night with Gareth causes Alex to recall memories he’s suppressed for years. He heads to Eileen McGinty’s house and demands to know what Jenny was looking for in their family history.
