Molly is devastated by Daisy’s death and discovers a mysterious symbol that ignites her desire to track down Freddie. The police speak to Grace Cochrane who runs the Door of Salvation, a local charity centre that Daisy was known to frequent. When Freddie learns Daisy is dead, he is devastated. He blames Molly and grows more erratic, seemingly haunted by a group of apparitions who appear to be manipulating Freddie for their own dark purposes. It soon becomes apparent that Gareth McAvaney is involved in corruption, with his powerful and mysterious cabal, The Star of the Forest Church, funding local Councillor Jacinta Clunes’ election campaign in return for her influencing the outcome of a lucrative building tender. Alex makes a traumatic visit to Jenny McGinty’s mother, Eileen.
