Series Three

Weilan, a teenage Chinese mermaid, discovers a mysterious relic underwater and releases a terrifying water dragon. Weilan flees to Mako for sanctuary but the dragon follows. When the fearsome creature threatens not only the Mako pod but the Gold Coast, Ondina, Mimmi and Sirena must find a way to destroy the dragon before it destroys all that they have worked so hard to save.

But a greater threat to their peace has arrived, in the form of a fearsome Chinese water dragon that once destroyed the Eastern pod.

News of Joe and David's sea monster encounter reach Dr Ross at the marine park. He sends Chris and Karl out to Mako Island to do some investigating just as Rikki is giving a lesson. Rikki gets trapped in the moonpool with Chris and tries to cloak to avoid detection but he gets a glimpse of her on his thermal imaging camera. To stop any further investigations, the mermaids use their powers to create a more natural phenomenon to discredit the brothers' sighting.©tzuk

Veridia's preparations for a confrontation with the Water Dragon on the night of the full moon leaves Mimmi and Ondina watching over the little mermaids in the caves beneath Mako Island. Unhappy at being left out of the action, the girls make their own secret plan to join the fight, as does Evie. Weilan misdirects Veridia to keep the pod on the far side of Mako Island, out of harm's way. Not believing the pod is capable of defeating the Water Dragon, Weilan's plan is to lure the Water Dragon into the Moon Pool where Zac can turn its magic back on it. However, when Evie learns of Zac's involvement she goes to the Moon Poll in search of him. Alone, the pair face off against the fearsome Water Dragon... with terrible consequences.©tzuk
