M.D.A. (Medical Defence Association)

Director of ABC Television Sandra Levy has announced that Screentime has been selected to produce a major new weekly one-hour medical drama series for ABC TV.The ABC invited a number of production companies to pitch for the series, with Screentime getting the go-ahead to produce the 22 part drama from the ABC's Melbourne studios. The details of the series are under wraps at the moment, but it will go into production late 2001 and go to air early next year—2002.

Des Monaghan as Screentime's Executive Director and Greg Haddrick, Head of Drama, developed the concept for the series. Greg is a multi AWGIE and AFI award winning writer.

Robyn Kershaw, Head of ABC TV Drama Said ' I am incredibly excited about the opportunity for ABC TV Drama to collaborate with Screentime, on what will be an innovative and thrilling new medical series'.

Principal photography will start on this 22x1 hour drama series for ABC TV in the middle of April. Some of Australia's best known actors have been cast in the lead roles, and the scripts—for the vast majority of the episodes—have been through a number of drafts.

M.D.A will be produced at the ABC's Ripponlea studios in Melbourne
