Armstrong and Donovan

Bad boy's back, balder, wiser

JASON Donovan is back, but things have certainly changed in his tempestuous life since he last starred in a TV show.

He has two beautiful kids with his partner Angela, has cleaned up his act and, while he has a little less hair up on top, he's certainly got much more on his face.

A playfully forthcoming Donovan joined his co-stars including Kerry Armstrong, Shane Bourne, Aaron Pedersen and Alice Caitlin at The Prince in Melbourne to launch ABC-TV's new show MDA (Medical Defence Australia).

"I'd forgotten what these launches are like," Donovan told Confidential at the boisterous launch.

Donovan, 34, plays Richard Savage, a specialist lawyer in medical litigation in the drama which goes to air on July 23.

It is his first regular role in a series since he made as mark as Scott Robinson in Neighbours .

With the ABC's comedy Kath & Kim a surprise hit, those at Aunty hope MDA will be another bolter.

Interestingly, MDA will go head-to-head with Seven's Marshall Law , the series starring Lisa McCune which Armstrong turned down to return to the ABC.
