Hard Time Getting Soft Time

Dave Davies works up a sweat when he finds out that his new show "The Jesters" could be cancelled due to low ratings, so Dave teaches his boys to get publicity — opting that one of them should be arrested. Michael has his own problems trying to shoot a charity ad without any charity backing him. And Steve learns how to be spontaneously prepared as a radio phoner for Dave.

The Female Voice

Dave insists of the hiring of a female comedy writer to add to "The Jesters" as they come across boyish. But the new femme fatale provides nothing close to her gender. Zak tries to mimic that of Dave's positive story planted in a gossip paper by trying to drop his own little blurbs in the newspaper. Michael insists on ridding the warm up comedian and taking over the role himself. And Dave is offered a role on the new Pixar film in Australia — A talking banana.

Steve and Zak take on the fill-in breakfast show on FM radio against Dave and Kat's guidance. Michael finds out that comedy can get you into hot waters when he tries to organise a competition through "The Jesters" on finding which religion is the ultimate One True Religion. Essentially, various religious leaders chime in to say otherwise. Tony's success from his hit comedy song brings him misery.

The Jesters are offered money to perform at a corporate gig up at a Queensland resort. Do they use it to their advantage or become used? Meanwhile an outtake clip of Dave chucking a tantrum 10 years ago finds it's way onto Youtube. Julia suggests to Zak and Tony to make their online presence more felt — so they go around the office recording snippets of their colleagues.

Dave makes the team work overnight to deliver a script on time. Michael spends the night prepping to appear on The Einstein Factor. Zak is in scrutiny with the US Government after sneaking in some conspiracy theories in "The Jester's" newscrawl. And Dave finds out that Steve tries to persuade Di to become his agent, asking for a larger payrise to start with.

Michael is angered when he sees that Dave and Kat have been asking actors to be stand-in's for the Jester's stunts. Michael makes a complaint to the network and everything is blown out of proportion. Steve has an affair with a female TV critic for personal gain but ends up gaining next to nothing. Dave's old show is set to be released on DVD, but has to edit some footage out. Tony tries to write something funny without music, upon his ABC radio segment "Friday Night Funnies".

And Dave is not enthused to be presenting the Hall of Fame award to a critic rival. He also tapes a new pilot in the form of a chat show.
