Deloraine wants to believe the former is true while Rivers hopes the latter is not. When Con skips classes to looks after his business interests, Roberto volunteers to help Con run the Shark Pool but he alienates the customers when he raises the prices. Effie does not know how to respond to Bart's request for a kiss.©tzuk

If only because Matt doesn't want her to, Jodie agrees to be Steve's model for a school photography project. Effie and Bart's relationship hits a snag.©tzuk

Deloraine offers Matt incentives to do well on his exams. Sam cautions Andrew about his high expectations for the Hartley students. After pouring all her time into studying, Danielle exhausts herself both physically and emotionally. After walking out in the middle of her exam, Danielle is struck by a car.©tzuk

Andrew confronts Sam about her past affair with Peter and confesses his own jealousy. Allie feels like she's being shut out by her friends because of her involvement with Matt.©tzuk

Steve gets an opportunity to work at a local newspaper but his first assignment goes badly causing his editor to use Steve's pictures of Tim for a scandalous story on the fallen singer. As his friends are filling out their university forms and making plans for the future, Matt contemplates what he wants to do with his life. Rivers tries to use Katerina to make Sam jealous.©tzuk

Rivers' attempt to spice up the party with a game of Truth or Dare results in hurt feelings, animosity, and conflict among all those who participate. The gang hurries to clean up before Con's parents return home but only so much can be done to disguise the fact that one's furniture has been in the pool! Riding her recent career successes, Jodie quits school but is saddened at having turned her back on Con.©tzuk

Katerina has difficulty telling Con how she feels about him. Andrew surprises Sam by first purchasing a motorcycle and then proposing to her. Interest in Jodie's song increases as a result of the airplay and plans are made for her to go on a promotional tour. Allie is given the go-ahead to move into the warehouse.©tzuk

A decline in enrolment applications threatens to permanently close the doors of Hartley High unless additional students can be found. Matt faces a dilemma when Allie gives him a ring. Deloraine is admitted to hospital after suffering a mild heart attack. With Con and Katerina now an item, Roberto lays down some behavioural ground rules. Meanwhile, Sam turns down Andrew's proposal and soon finds herself back with Peter and the two run away together. The kids launch a campaign to save the school and just when it appears they have failed, Jodie returns and delivers a passionate speech that pushes the campaign over the top.©tzuk
