Australian bushranger drama Wild Boys scrapped after one series

CHANNEL Seven has announced that there won't be a second series of Wild Boys.

The Aussie bushranger drama, starring Daniel MacPherson and Zoe Ventoura, has been scrapped after one series due to disappointing ratings.

Wild Boys made a strong debut to more than 1.6 million viewers but has been on the slide ever since.

In recent weeks it has hovered around 900,000 viewers, which would be a good figure on any network other than Seven.

Seven is used to getting more than 1.5 million viewers per episode of hit local shows including Packed to the Rafters and Winners and Losers.

"The show premiered to strong audience figures… however those numbers didn't hold," a Channel Seven spokesperson said.

"Regrettably (we) have made the decision not to commission series two."
