Rush to sign Underbelly star Callan Mulvey

FROM Underbelly to over the moon - hot young actor Callan Mulvey has become serious small screen property thanks to his starring role in Channel 9's gritty crime drama.

Mulvey, who plays Mark Moran in Underbelly, is understood to have been signed to star in Channel 10's upcoming big budget drama series Rush.

The original pilot for the series - then called Rapid Response - was shot in June 2004 but Ten decided not to pick-up the Southern Star Entertainment project.

However the drama, renamed Rush, was approved for another pilot in January this year.

Scheduled to air in the second half of the year, Rush focuses on the dramas surrounding an elite team of police and emergency services personnel.
