Inspired by Shrug starting his new job, Christine takes a job as a checkout chick. The band attends a Dead Lions gig where they are invited to become the bands new support act. The band's first night opening for Dead Lions doesn't end well with the crowd chasing the band from the stage. Darrell uses his job a tour bus driver to deliver a German rugby team to the band's latest gig. Carrol turns down Leo's offer, preferring to make it to LA on her own — with the band. Meanwhile, Nick buys a computer for the office and Carrol uses her fashion contact to promote the band. Carol clashes with Charlie during rehearsal and again with Martin when he suggests she play the fashion show gig with the band. Christine invites Shrug to perform with the band. Promoter Brian Kawolsky introduces himself to Darrell. The money Carol makes from selling her fashions gives the band enough to record their demo tape. After Martin finally decides to show up, George admits his playing isn't good enough and quits the band but is allowed to become the band's manager.
