Foxy ladies make grade

WHO’S who in Australia? Kath and Kim, that’s who.

The 2005 edition of that snapshot of Australian life, Who’s Who in Australia, has added the stars of an irreverent television smash hit to its pages.

Kath and Kim actors Gina Riley, Jane Turner, Glenn Robbins and Magda Szubanski are among 506 notable Australians added to the new edition, released today.

Other new arrivals include ex-Taswegian Princess Mary of Denmark, fashion models Sarah O’Hare and Megan Gale, Nobel prize-winning author and ex-South African resident J M Coetzee, National Australia Bank CEO John Stewart, paralympians Tim Sullivan and Amy Winters, Academy Award-winning film-maker Adam Elliot and AFL coach Leigh Matthews.

Editor Catherine De Micheli described Who’s Who in Australia as a “permanent biographical dictionary of Australians who have made a significant contribution to public life in this country”.

“The 2005 edition of the book contains almost 13,000 eminent Australians from every walk of life,” she said.

“Over the years, the people who are considered notable, and therefore who have been included in Who’s Who in Australia, have changed.”
