Rainforest wedding for Gibney

LEADING local actor Rebecca Gibney has married production designer Richard Bell in a private ceremony in Queensland's Daintree rainforest.

It is the second marriage for the New Zealand-born Gibney, the star of the Halifax f.p. television movies. She was previously married to singer Jack Jones.

Gibney's brother Patrick married the couple at the ceremony at the Bali Hai resort, attended only by 20 family and close friends.

She wore a cream, beaded Collette Dinnigan gown with close friends Donna Dainty, wife of promoter Paul Dainty, and actor Jane Hall as bridesmaids.

"Both of us were very emotional when Patrick was conducting the ceremony," Gibney told this week's Woman's Day magazine.

"My bottom lip was trembling and I think I had a few tears.

"I looked up at Richard and he did too.

"But when it came to saying our vows, we were both so happy. This was what we'd been waiting for."
