X and the Chief are alive, spared from the lava having landed on a narrow ledge. After chiding X for not pushing him into the lava when she had the chance, The Chief tells X she was once a rising star, Principa's favourite — she could have been one of them — if only she had turned in her father! X explains everything changed for her when she went to the blue planet and learned about feelings and that love also exists on Zyrgon, close to him even — Jady. Love is all that can save him now. Believing they are now alone, Father decides he, Mother and Qwrk will move away and puts the house and car up for sale. The Froggatts are thrilled — they've won! X finds a way out but needs help from the Chief to reach an elevator shaft. Climbing the tunnel, X is surprised when the Chief saves her life. They emerge into the Community Centre where the assembled crowd grabs the Chief but X declares no one will go into the lava again and orders him released. Jady arrives and the Chief takes up Yorp's suggestion they take over his refuelling depot. Before they leave, the Chief pins his logotype on X. Authoritax/Principa emerges from the crowd and announces she's giving up her job. She's now interested in shopping malls, and a career in retail. She suggests Zyrgon needs new blood, someone young, someone with the the skills of an Organiser — X. X is reluctant to accept but the people demand her. Jenny doesn't want her friend to stay but X realises she is needed to teach the people of Zyrgon everything she's learned on Earth. Later, X talks with Hecla who advises her to listen to her heart. As Dovis prepares to depart for Earth with Jenny and Colin, X arrives, she's changed her mind. She's going to Earth. They return to Earth for an emotional reunion with Mother, Father and Qwrk.
