Georgie Parker hot favourite for Gold Logie win

Actress Georgie Parker is hot favourite to win the Gold Logie on Australian television's night of nights, according to an online betting agency.

Centrebet has listed Parker, who plays nurse Terri Sullivan on the Channel Seven drama All Saints, at odds of 5/1 on ($1.20) to take the gong for Australia's most popular television personality for the second consecutive year.

Centrebet sports betting manager Gerard Daffy said Parker would be hard to beat at the 44th annual Logie Awards in Melbourne on April 28.

"Everyone loves Georgie. She has the potential to dominate the Logies in the same way that Lisa McCune and Ray Martin did in the 1990s and looks like a good thing," Mr Daffy said in a statement.

Parker is up against fellow All Saints star Libby Tanner in the Gold Logie category, but Tanner, at odds of 12/1 on ($13), is not seen as a serious contender by Centrebet. "Libby's character has vanished into thin air," Mr Daffy said.

"I think it will be a case of out of sight, out of mind."

Rove McManus of Rove Live was tipped to be Parker's greatest competition, Mr Daffy said.

"Housewives adore Rove and so he is Centrebet's $4 second favourite," he said.

Ada Nicodemou from Home and Away and Blue Heelers stalwart John Wood were also nominated in the category, listed at $13 and $8 respectively with Centrebet.
